Red exhibitions commissioned Stage ONE to fabricate a car for the bingle.com brand. It was initially used for a promotion at a sporting event where onlookers were encouraged to kick a football into a continually opening and closing boot, which we achieved by installing a repetitive-loop mechanism.
Fabrication for the body began with devising the car into 8 sections that were cut
using our on-site 5-axis robotic mill. Hand sculpting was necessary to refine the shape and add the finer details. A protective coating of polyurethane was
applied next to make the styrene structure impact, chemical and moisture
resistant. Paintwork in our commercial spray-painting booth
(pictured) completed the look of the car.
The well-recognised green model car later appeared in advertising and continues to be re-purposed.
