- Job Title:
- The Ruby Slipper Collection
- Client:
- Warner Bros. Entertainment Australia Pty Ltd
- Objective:
- As part of the world wide celebration activity for the 70th Anniversary of "The Wizard of OZ", a travelling exhibition was commissioned by Warner Bros. Burbank, containing 18 iconic ruby slippers, each individually designed by world famous fashion designers. The Australian leg of the tour was displayed exclusively at Myer Melbourne. The presentation was designed, with small portal openings set into a temporary wall, hard against the glass. This format maintained a close viewing distance, to ensure each shoe's detail could to be appreciated from street level. Each case was backlit utilising banks of moving projector effects, deliberately set out of focus, creating subtle movement and contrast against each object. Daylight LED lights were fitted within the cases, generating daylight colour on each object to accentuate the Swarovski Ruby Crystals. All objects were handled, documented, installed, and secured, based on museum conservation and preparatory guidelines.
