Torie is one of our great multi-skilled artists with a very fitting ‘whatever is required to get the job done’ attitude. When she began working at Stage ONE in 2001, her main skill was painting. Over her 12-year freelance career with us, she has had the opportunity to also do mould making, casting, costume making and prop making.
In recent years, Torie has been our casting technician, working with various resins, plaster and other materials. This is something she’s thankful for as she sees it as a dying art form. Our innovative environment and good team culture also makes it easy to give our projects priority.
Some of her most memorable work with us is that for her first Myer Christmas Windows, The Wind in the Willows in 2001 and Wombat Divine in 2006.
Torie has recently exhibited some of her own work at Melbourne Now, National Gallery of Victoria and Performance space in Sydney, and was part of Melbourne’s first White Night event.
